ALERT: Ashton can act??????whattt!!!!!!

I was SHOCKED. I loveee Ashton Kutcher but have known he isn't the best, he's great comedically but drama not so much.
Which was one reason why this movie was so appealing/amazing, is that Ashton actually showed his acting chops (he may have worked w/ an acting coach too)! That scene on the bus after the 1st wedding, he was truely great, and most of the scenes in the courtroom hall were great.
He was totally restrained not goofy at all which was amazing! I mean he played a CHICKEN! the guy could have been the goofiest mofo you have ever seen.
I think this says tons for the director and the fact that he was working opposite both Michelle Phifer and Kathy Bates, 2 very good actresses.
But all in all he showed a completly different side of himself and did it successfully! Truely amazed by his performance, he isn't just a pretty face anymore. I would say that after seeing PERSONAL EFFECTS, Kutcher could definitely have/continue a dramatic acting career.

i KNOW it's UNBELIEVABLE

I caught this film on a lazy afternoon on Lifetime, and I normally avoid Ashton Kutcher in most things. But the look in his eye when he was acting hooked me in to it.
The pain he showed in this film was almost palpable! He did wonderfully here. I was astonished. The look on his face when he was beating up the murder suspect and realized what was being said was heartwrenching.

Yes, I was very impressed as well. I haven't seen all that many Ashton movies, but considering what I know of his personality, he did a great job with this character.

I prefer him in serious roles like this and The Guardian. The only comedy I liked him in was "That 70s Show".
