Don't think there will be much here...

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan... but I originally got kind of perturbed during the Confessions tour, when she did "Live to Tell" and put all these images of AIDS orphans in Africa up on the projections. Because I didn't remember ever seeing anything talking about how a portion of my $150 (mid-range) ticket was going to help these people.

Which, unfortunately, made me think she was embracing this simply as self-promotion, to seem like she cared and was trying to make a difference - but without ever actually making a *real* difference to anything but her own bank accounts.

This seems like more of the same. If she said she was turning all the grosses from this into AIDS relief efforts anywhere in the world, that would be one thing - but right now I am thoroughly unimpressed.

Stick to the pop-star stuff, Madge. If you're gonna get into charity, at least mean it as much as Bono does.

Well, you're obviously *not* a huge Madonna fan, based on your complete and utter lack of knowledge of her charitable tendencies.

She spent $4 million building an orphanage in Malawi, she bankrolled this $1 million movie, and she has donated millions to AIDS research as well as countless other charities. Just because she doesn't run around making sure everyone knows about it like that egomaniac Bono doesn't mean she isn't charitable.

I am not at all a fan of Madonna, but I think this documentary film is very powerful, an in fact I would have to say that for the first time ever, Madonna has really left an impression on me...
