Who else absolutely looooooved the idea of horse (Chris) and kitten (Don)? A great way to talk about feelings and work through problems without conflict. Plus, you have a pile of images later to look through and remember.

I woke up to this on the Sundance Channel's Doc Day this morning, and was simply smitten. What a terrific film it is. When you see them together, it's easy to see why they worked so well for decades. Having someone who adores and encourages you the way Chris did for Don, sending him to art school was very touching. I think this is the kind of love story everyone would wish to have in their own lives! What an interesting life they led. Mmmm... delicious... can't wait to watch it again!

I had most of today, Valentines Day, off from work. My spouse and I, who have been together for a little over 23 years in a relationship quite similar to that which Chris Isherwood and Don Bachardy had (have? because it appears that Chris still lives on despite his passing...), watched this film. We were both quite moved. And we laughed, too, because he has always referred to me as "Crow" and I to him as "Puppydog." So the Horse and Kitten scenes were certainly not lost on us!
