Wow.
I've never known about a movie being filmed so far from the actual release date. What others have had these issues? Is there any hope for it being a good movie?

shareI just watched it. It is beyond horrible. Do not waste your time watching this movie for free even. It isn't the least bit funny and the storyline is a joke. I thought it might be at least decent with the actors that were in it. I gave it a 2 and I think I need to change that to a 1. 1 of the worst I have seen and I'm not exaggerating it's that bad.
shareTotally agree this film is terrible, the worst one ive seen so far this year.
Why dont we just wait here for a little while...see what happens?
Beyond horrible is the best description for this movie.
shareThe funding didn't ruin the film. Not like they had to cut important scenes because they couldn't afford to pay for the special effects or something. They had a talented cast, all they needed to do was write funny stuff for them to say and put them in interesting and/or amusing scenarios.
Either you were watching another film or you just don't get satire.
It wasn't a great movie by a long shot, but claiming it's a 1 just makes your opinion unreliable and fundamentally worthless.

Totally agree. It was 1/10 for me. I can't believe Gyllenhaal actually took part in it.
The funding dried up and ruined the film. Fraudulent funding I believe. And O'Russell abandoned it some years ago.
Not sure why they decided to release it now though.
I'd love to read the original screenplay because this film does suck but it has an original concept to a degree.
I don't recall ever hearing about a mainstream film with such woes. Usually it's low budget garbage.
Seventh Son was made in 2012 and scheduled for release in February of 2013. It was repeatedly postponed and sat on the shelf for two more years until it was eventually released in February 2015. It was a flop.
sharequite a lot of movies come out years or in some cases over a decade later even(rare). A couple that come to mind are the Anna Paqyin/Matt Damon film that was filmed in 2005(why Paquin had to be absent from most of X-men 3 filming) and released in late 2011 only. Haven ,with Orlando Bloom/Zoe Saldana another film, filmed in 2003 and released in late 2006.
Usually its due to not finding a distributor for it, sometimes also pushing the release date back constantly(very often happens even with studio films these days) due to wanting to get a suitable copetitive, financially prospective release date,so it can get a good chance at making money at the box office. It depends, this films financing was fraudulent, they couldnt quite finish it,so that was prob the reason.
The Anna Paquin movie is 'Margaret'.
shareThe Other Side of the Wind was shot between 1970 and 1976, and it's just being released this year
shareIf per chance The Day the Clown Cried ever sees serious light of day, it'll have this disaster beat.
That son of a bitch! Don't get me wrong, he's a fine writer.
Tony Kaye's (American History X) Black Water Transit was also shot in 2008 and is still unreleased. It was actually made by the same company as Accidental Love - David Bergstein's Capitol Films - so there's a chance it'll also be released.
shareTexas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation was filmed in 1993, but wasn't officially released until 1997.
Return to Sleepaway Camp: Filmed in 2003. Released in 2008.
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane: Filmed in 2005. Released in 2013.
