Is Michelle the adopted daughter?

In episode two, William Cross pulls the gold from the treasury, and Silas goes to Abbadon to demand a hidden cache of gold. In order to leverage him, Silus pulls out a picture, rips it in half, then hands it to Abbadon. If you freeze frame, it's a picture of Michelle and David with David torn out. He exclaims "she's alive? You spared--" "she's a grown woman now. She lives well." I think Silus adoped the daughter of the king he userped and raised her as his own without anyone else's knowledge but Rose's. It would explain why Rose always seems cool to her, but favorable to Jack.

Just rewatching now: might not have been David in the photo. Silas says "she's not alone in the picture." "There are more?"

what does that mean? Does that mean Jack could be adopted too? Or am I just completely misinterpreting?

Did you get a good look? I didn't. Are you sure it's David and not Jack?

Could it be Jack and Michelle are siblings and both "adopted"?

Perhaps Silas is sterile or his wife is barren.
