Good camera work, but other than that, the music, cinematography, direction, the script, the acting...everything else was bland. Absolutely had no weight/gravitas, unlike The Brave One or Death Sentence. Both films were haunting, but in their own respective ways. One would think the writer and/or director would watch such films going into a project like this. This film is just fodder and by the numbers.
Is Eli Roth to blame?
I think the writing was, too. I never watched the original because I’ve never cared for Bronson. Roth and the writer didn’t seem to know how to build suspense. I thought Willis was great with what he was given to work with...which wasn’t much.

If anything, this movie would have been better if they would have gone with the whole c-movie/exploitation route (Hobo with a Shotgun, Planet Terror, Death Proof, Black Dynamite, etc...). I mean, it's difficult to identify what the filmmakers were going for here.
I watched because of Eli Roth, his movies tend to be cruel and unfair but this was very by the numbers, competent but nothing memorable. I was entertained although I did pause it to take a phone call.
