What a horrid movie

I love a good drama and the premise is promising , watching the destruction of a relationship can lead to good drama, but this movie has so many hackneyed elements I couldnt get into it, the lines came across as really cliched at times, the acting was sub par, The lesbian friend was the only one who had any charisma or connection with the audience and the climax was so immeasurably ridiculous that I could not een fathom how someone thought that was a good idea...

" How 'bout some chocolate pain, bitch"

Totally agree. How do movies this bad get made? I guess because it's so easy to shoot on tape, round up a cast of unemployed "actors," and have a minimum budget. In the DVD extras, cast members were interviewed. They took the film seriously, discussed their characters in depth, and so on. Couldn't any of them see from reading the script that this was a disaster? I agree that the lesbian friend was the only cast member here who had some acting talent, made a connection with me. I'd seen "Slutty Summer" and found that funny and entertaining, so expected a much better film than this one. Yuck!

It really missed capitalizing on the whole issue of the transsexual as well. She had no redeeming qualities, was a complete bitch who was only out to destroy her brother's relationship and make him as miserable as she was, and he was only too willing to go along for the trip. I'm sure that going through the gender see-saw that she seemed to be experiencing would have some negative impact on somebody, but if Kyle really cared about her then he should have been supportive while at the same time not throwing away the best thing he had - his relationship with Marcel. They could have delved into a strong dramatic side story on the transsexual experience of Cole but instead I just couldn't stand seeing him on screen - I absolutely hated his character.

I also wholeheartedly agree about the whole eye-fluttering laying on the street after getting hit by a car ending thing they had going on there. It would have been believable that Kyle would have lived through that accident, it could have been a new starting point for their relationship, and could have saved the movie somewhat at least, but that opportunity was just tossed out the window. Though of course there was that whole immigration thing which would have been very difficult to give closure to.
