You've seriously got to be kidding me. Marcel's fault? I think not! Marcel was true to his relationship with Kyle while Kyle was completely willing to fall for every dirty cheap trick April/Cole wanted to play. April/Cole directed the relationship completely, manipulated Kyle like an ever-so-willing sock puppet. It became so bad that towards the end of the movie there were absolutely no redeeming qualities of either sibling and the viewers' hearts can only feel for Marcel.
We're led to believe that Kyle was just so stupid and blind to willingly allow his brother/sister to completely destroy his relationship. Kyle was supposed to be an artist though, one who wrote love songs to Marcel and sang them on stage, so you'd think that he might have at least a fleeting understanding and appreciation for love. However he was all-too-willing to toss it all away for the extremely selfish motives of April/Cole, when anyone with half a brain should have been able to see through his/her charade quite easily. It wasn't until the end of the movie where the IMS is hauling Marcel off that Kyle finally sees the light but unfortunately is too stupid to look before running out into traffic.
I'm sorry this movie could have been SO MUCH BETTER. The actors were good, there were interesting elements of relationship dynamics at the beginning of the movie, then the director just threw it all away and lost his mind. I really tried to like this movie but unfortunately it completely fails as a love story as only Marcel seemed to understand anything at all about love. It then fails as a good story because there are no redeeming qualities shown of Kyle and his brother until it is entirely too late - I hated their characters with a passion.
