Christopher Lambert is not in the film.

It's bizzare they keep promting it as Chritopher Lambert starring film. He is not in Tales.

Pyun has confirmed in interviews that Lambert is in this movie.

I am sorry, but it seems Pyun & Co want to trick people into believing Lambert and Kilmer ar in the movie. They advertise this movie as Christopher Lambert movie and Val Kilmer movie. Both those actors are not in the film. I'm sure we will witness some kind of bizarre explanation from Pyun. The facts are these: Tales of An Ancient Empire is the movie promoted as "starring Christopher Lambert" and "starring Val Kilmer". This is totally untrue.

I think you've been trickd. Read those interview again...you'll see Pyun never says Lambert and Kilmer is in it.

reply

What makes you so sure they're NOT in it?

reply

The final poster without Lambert and Kilmer names on it...and now (after the premiere at FrightFest) you can read it on this board.

That's Pyun's very pathetic trick - the truth is Lambert and Kilmer are not in the film. He just "wanted" them to be in it...Hahaha (and I want Magan Fox in my movie...so I'll start advertise it as Magan Fox starring movie! How about that??? Is it fair???). Notice that here, on IMDB Pyun and his crew put this false info about the cast of the movie. Also they did sell preoreds for TALES OF AN ANCIENT EMPIRE as a movie with Christopher Lambert!!!

How would you call something like that?

reply

I've heard the same thing through another source that Christopher Lambert was asked about his role in 'Tales' and he replied that he passed on the role, he just didn't feel right about it and this was last year. The question was asked on a fansite. Althought Mr. Lambert has worked with Mr. Pyun in the past, it is unlikely he is in this movie... but who knows?

There Can Be Only One!...And That Is Christopher Lambert!

Lambert and Kilmer are not in the film. It was shown on FrightFest. There is not a single scene with Lambert or Kilmer. During the Q&A Pyun explained he wanted them to be in the film. Lambert and Kilmer refused.

Even without him, the film manages to fail epically. Imagine how it would have been with him in it.

i lol'ed and agreed.

As far as I know the version shown at Frightfest was unfinished, and will be edited down dramatically from 70 mins to about 25...

The rest of the film will hopefully be much better, too hahaha

I saw it at the midnight (ahem) screening at Frightnight as well. I thought it was pretty good. It held my attention even at 1 AM. It wasn't finished and it was a bit choppy in part but I liked Michael Pare and Kevin Sorbo and Melissa Ordway was magical. She really is hot! I thought the film looked great but the sound was messed up and so it was hard to hear the dialogue. I'd see this again in a formal theater and not some hotel ballroom where a band was breaking down their gear during the film. It was also nice to see Sasha Mitchell again. Where's he been? He has a funny bit at the end of the film. I thought the film had a lot more humor and gore than I was expecting. Some of the gore shocked me a little because its not expected.

Christopher isn't in it, because it wasn't finished... Kevin Sorbo has stated many times on Twitter that he wished they could finish it and I have no idea why they are showing it at film festivals and what not when it's not finished and that's also why it's choppy & doesn't make sense I think... I had high hopes for this film being a Kevin Sorbo fan & I like other film Albert Pyun's done, but if they don't finish it, it'll never be good....

I don't know why Lambert is being promoted. The version I saw has Micheal Pare, Sasha Mitchell from the kickboxer films and Olivier Gruner from Nemesis (one of Pyun's best IMO). It also had Whitney Able who was good in Monsters earlier this year and a super hot Melissa Ordway and Victoria Maurette. There's a few other hotties as well but I can't remember their names but one attended the screening and she was smoking hot. Pyun runs hot and cold as a director but has delivered a number of really memorable films and this is one.
