i spit on your grave

I read the premise, and it sounds incredibly similar. if I'm wrong, let me know.

Don't say it's just a movie. If I thought it was just a movie, I wouldn't have an imdb account.

It is similar, but the film knows its place. It doesn't pass itself off as art, and critics don't lap it up with praise like they do with two-bit hacks like Tarantino.

Rape and revenge movies, women in prison movies, etc.
When the story is already told in the genre name, that lets little room for originality. That's exploitation. You gotta love sleaze and cheesy stuff.

It tries to be like many other exploitation movies but is just too s**t to recommended. (The guns they use are plastic water pistols)
Although most exploitation cinema isn't known for it's groundbacking acting talent, RBR will test the patience of anyone...ever.

A complete pile of horses**t would be another way of putting it.

It's a pretty distinct rehashing, if not rip off, of I Spit on Your Grave and Last House on the Left.

There were door-to-door bible selling catholic school girls in those films? I gotta see them now.

I still believe. Do you still believe? - Earl Hickey

I would say it is a borderline rip off of I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. It also has elements of THE DEVIL'S REJECTS,PULP FICTION(where riffs of Dick Dale's music is ripped off) and RESERVOIR DOGS.
One of the big differences of ISOYG is that there is a woman rapist as well.

The fact it has elements of other films underlines it is not just a rip-off of one film. Just because it is a rape revenge flick doesn't mean it is a rip-off.

It has its own qualities. It is not just the "I Spit" set-up of a sole woman harassed, raped & gains revenge. BTW, the remake of that movie was subpar.
