Giant plot hole in the movie

The movie fails to factor in that, yes corporations have a lot of power but not as much as countries. If this actually happened US would be all over it. There is no way US would have let some puny private company take over the alien researching especially considering that dangerous alien weapons would be in their hands. US would have worked out some sorta deal with SA (money or arms or something) and transferred all the aliens to the a secure location away from prying eyes somewhere in the world. At the very least, NASA would have searched and dismantled every part of that spaceship and the prawns would have been extensively studied, even if the US couldnt move them somewhere. I am pessimist but I doubt the aliens would have been treated so badly. SA can get away with human right crimes(or should I say alien right crimes) but the US can not. Yes the US has a long history of human right crimes but it has always been heavily criticized. The HRC groups from all over the world would have been all over this and some sorta compromise would have been worked out. Also I am pretty sure NASA would have tried to help the aliens restart their spaceship if only to learn the secrets of space travel. I can believe everything in the movie but a private organization having full control over aliens is never gonna happen. If US wouldnt have stepped up, the EU or China or Russia or any other major country would have.

Think the point was that nobody cares about it because it is in africa. Some minor aid to keep up with appearances. We dont know for sure if that small private? company isnt reporting back to some US corporation or gov. Or any other major power.

I think the relocation was the establishment looking for a reason to do a wide spread erraticate of the alien population. Everything is political so of the rioted or revolted they were lookjng to get permission to kill them all

I love the American perspective. So the USA would be all over it, then?
Like the Tunguska meteorite; not at all.

That was like over 100 years ago. Pre world war I when the United States wasn't really even a super power yet.

That's a neck

The corporations would have paid a politician to write a bill so only Company X can do research. Corporations run the politicians who run the country...a=b=c.

You're delusional if you think the government actually controls the country.

Hama cheez ba-Beer behtar meshawad!

There's a bigger hole... And that's how the Prawns hid a dropship loaded with weapons and a mech directly under the mothership while every camera on Earth was focused in on the Prawns "activity."

It makes an otherwise great movie meh.

Enjoy these words, for one day they'll be gone... All of them.

I agree. The Americans would have been all over that shit. They would have allowed for the bulk of the residents to stay in SA and have taken a certain portion back to the US along with any and all technology with assurances and aid to SA in return. Doesn't matter whether it be a private company or a nation, the US would have found or created a reason for why it needs to be there and why we need all their shit.
