Right proper suspense movie

so.... true story eh?

i liked the pacing. it moved well, which kept me from getting bored or otherwise i may have cut it off.

the rise and fall in suspense reminds me a lot of hitchcock.

the boyfriend was a good actor. the molly chick was partially hot; sometimes yes sometimes no. the whole enigma of the subdivision was really creepy

i did wonder though, what was her job? independently wealthy? she never went to work one time. also, i wasn't clear as to why she left dublin.

one mroe comment; the night scenes were too dark. it went to black screen, so they shoulda had some lights

It didn't say true story, just gave the time frame (and I'm not sure it was that important to do so anyway).

Most people probably know the boyfriend from BBC's Being Human. He is amazing and hot on there as well. He is a huge actor in the horror/fantasy genre. He is also going to be in the big redo of The Hobbit.

I thought that the subdivision being called Meadowlands was a nod to the BBC series Meadowland, which is awesome, by the way, where the community is SUPER creepy and one never knows whom to trust. It looks similar too. I wondered if it was an inside joke or something.

She did say what her job was. She read books/texts and made summaries of them for professors so they could use her notes to present books, or topics on a certain subject and they themselves wouldn't have to read the materials. She worked from home. She says at one point that it didn't matter if she left Dublin because she could telecommute.

She left Dublin because her father was killed in their home, she was all traumatized about it, going a little bonkers, and the hustle and bustle of the city was grating on her nerves. She wanted her OWN place that was peaceful and felt safe. She was trying to start a new life away from her horrible memories of what happened.

It also reminded me of Hitchcock in a way. And the whole "what is real, who can she trust? or is she just crazy?" thing felt like Rosemary's Baby (as someone else posted on here somewhere).

I'm very surprised by the low rating on here. I really liked it a lot and thought it was done very well. Films like this are why I love foreign and indie films.
