Couldn't they have casted someone younger?

I just watched the first couple of scenes. Teenagers would never go gaga over this guy. He is old enough to be their OLD father. This is disgusting. I can't even entertain the idea of him checking out this CHILD.

They should have gotten a 20something year old high school drop out type. Instead, they got a 45 year old crack addict.

I watched it last night and thought the same thing. He is too old and it made it creepy and disturbing to watch him try and seduce a 16 year old.

When I was a teenager in the 80s, I thought Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood were hot (and I still do).

My thoughts exactly... When I was a teenager I very seldom used to think any young men my age even remotely interesting. Then again: I'm a woman, not a gay boy.

He looks everyday of forty something and a meth head.

So you think 40 is old?!? It is MID life and it comes fast.

But I do think that a 40-something year old seducing or allowing a relationship with a teenager is never right.

I disagree strongly as a twenty-something woman myself. Although I didn't like the casting of the actor, the character himself is suppose to have these mix of being imposing, yet mysterious, charming, rugged, frightening and sexy/seductive. Believe me, no twenty-something guy would be able to capture that. They should cast someone between the age of 32-37 (which the actor was at the time). The problem with this actor wasn't because he was old, but he wasn't hot enough.

Honesty is the best joke ever.

The point was she was repulsed by him not attracted to him. You guys are trying to make this into Romeo & Juliet for Wolves lol.

When I was a kid (which was a while back), I never drooled over Tiger Beat and New Kids on the Block. My dream men were older and more mature. Sure, I had age appropriate crushes, but my fantasies mostly revolved around guys who had age, experience, and a commanding presence...something that's usually lacking in most teens and 20-ish boys.
