Total Ripoff of Fright Night
see title--jeez, any more blatant? and less cleverly done.
shareYea, I just noticed it too, though I haven't finished watching the movie yet. I was going to start a new topic on it, but I see now that someone has beat me to it.
shareYeah - pretty blatent, isn't it? Anyone smell a possible lawsuit?
shareI noticed the samething but the chick was hot and the movie wasn't too bad. better than mostof the sci fi channel b movies
-----
Word
Yeah, actually better than most Sci Fi movies. Probably why it was on sunday night and not their usual Saturday night crap slot. But wouldn't you love to hear Kevin Sorbo saying, "Redd whateverhisnamewas, fearless werewolf hunter." And yes, can we say most of us kept it on cause she was hot?
shareI most certainly kept it on cause of Nina Dobrev.
shareIt's hard to say. I don't see why some here liked it. I think that I couldn't make up my mind because all I could do was make relations between this movie and Fright Night. Fright Night, by the way, was wayyyyy better.

I just saw it on Sci-Fi last night. It was actually pretty cool. And yes, It's a definite werewolf version of Fright Night! One part that was kinda stupid was when the girl saw her own guts and went "Ewww!" That was a bit much. Other than that, it wasn't too bad.
shareThat's true...it wasn't too bad...but it wasn't too bad 'only' because it was literally based on someone else's good idea. I wouldn't mind seeing a part 2.
shareSTRAIGHT RIP OFF! HAHA!
The spying on the evil doer through a window, while he's with a lady he brought home for the night, AND factoring in the tv cad of a hero who needs to prove himself as big as his star-reputation (Sorbo’s character) should totally remind folks of Fright Night. Oddly enough, it's kinda realistically perverted that this older man (the bad guy) was so into getting acquainted with this teenage girl, wasn’t it? – And I mean to be so comfy-close in going to her school, riding the brother there and showing off the bike in front of the other kids, sort of like he was used to going to PS yards ‘cause “he love the kids.”
Oh well, age ain’t nothin’ but a number, I guess.
It was actually a comical movie that kept me in tuned whenever Sorbo was on camera. The words “You really suck” were never more memorably cool. He and the young female star had fine chemistry in their roles, making things that much more enjoyable. Overall, I think we’ve all seen better, yet the movie is tolerable on a rainy day from either work or school.
" It was actually pretty cool. And yes, It's a definite werewolf version of Fright Night! One part that was kinda stupid was when the girl saw her own guts and went "Ewww!" That was a bit much. Other than that, it wasn't too bad. " ----- I very much agree SilverWolf74 . It is a cool movie and the part when the character Angie Bremlock was gutted by the werewolf Jared and then says " Ewww " and then falls to the ground was the only goofy part in this movie ( the 1 % slip up as it were ? ) . Thanks so much SilverWolf74 for your most observant reply .
shareI thought it was a good flick and so what if it was Fright Night with werewolves. It was entertaining. Werewolf guy (Jared) was hot. He reminded me of David Bowie in Labyrinth.
shareActually, I do find these complaints about NCW being a 'ripoff' from other werewolf-movies slightly comical. It's like someone saying that Nosferatu is a ripoff of Dracula-movies. No!!! Really? I mean: vampires, Transylvania, Holland, blood... Geez, who'd have thought?!
shareActually, if you compare the two movies, Never Cry Werewolf and Fright Night, you will see why everyone is say that. The two movies are pretty much parallel. Imagine if you took the movie The Wizard of Oz and replaced all the characters, and kept the story the same...I'm sure people would make the comparison w/The Wizard of Oz.
