Blatant Ripoff of 'Fright Night'

Anybody else realize how this is a blatant ripoff of the original Fright Night? They just replaced Vampires with Werewolves, but I'd almost sue the film makers of this if I were Tom Holland. And yes, if there are people out there so clueless that they need me to point out the similarities I will. Most differences are minor at best, and it almost follows the Fright Night storyline and plot shot for shot.

Go ahead, ask me the similarities. I don't want to write them all out, but if there are people who really can't spot them then I guess if you ask me I will be forced to.

I haven't seen this but I just watched the trailer and the first thing that came to my mind was fright night. It's like the same story but with a werewolf.

Came here to say the same thing. I decided to watch it online on a whim and the Fright Night comparisons are extremely obvious except with werewolves and a girl in the lead. It's so sad.

When in doubt, run like hell!

It's so similar it can almost be considered a remake!

1. Teenage kid with a mysterious neighbor.
2. People turn up missing, neighbor is suspect.
3. Neighbor turns out to be vampire/werewolf.
4. Teen calls police to inspect neighbor's house.
5. Police don't believe.
6. Teen turns to local celebrity for help.
7. Teen's friend becomes 'infected'(and thus becomes inevitable comic relief)
8. Teen and celebrity 'do battle' with monster using their celebrity skills. (Vampire Killer/big game hunter)

..am I missing any??

It's not just the shape of the plot, but in many cases scene for scene and even shot for shot! The "local kid spying at night through bedroom window at mysterious new neighbour", one of the highlights of Fright Night, was clumsily enough replayed to lose all effect, but not so clumsily aped that one couldn't notice the imitation, down to the framing in some cases. Shame!!!

Tom Holland should sue.

9. Character is suspected to be reincarnation of former love interest
10. Monster has ghoul creature to protect lair.

Your approval isn't required.

I just watched it today but I haven't seen fright night in years so it didn't even come to mind. Then when I saw this post i was like, oh yea this movie is very similar to Fright Night lol. Its such a shame that people can't even come up with their own ideas. Although i enjoyed the movie, its quite sad that its a blatant ripoff.

Fright Night is one of my favorites. i also just this saw today and was pointing out the similarities as i was watching. i came here to see if people thought the same thing.
considering how horrible the 'syfy' movies usually are, it was actually an ok watch while laying in bed on a lazy saturday morning.

"They will make cemeteries their cathedrals and tombs your cities."

we picked up on that almost minutes into the film!

indeed, it is a remake.

Its so sad that even the creatures look like the ones from fright night. when the boy is showing is deformed fangs or the half wherewolf boy looks like Evil ed when he was turning back to human after being stabbed.

Write it, Print it, and film it already! there is much work to be done.
