What the hell was this?

It was horrible. Script was bad, so many things did not make sense. Ugh wow. Nothing like beerfest or super troopers. Sad.

I couldn't disagree more. Nuts is great and Duncan as the champ is friggin hilarous. Especially bc this is a direct to video, makes it one of the better movies to rent right now. I mean some of the crap that hits the theaters, this was a refreshing and funny movie that had a bunch of stupid/funny one liners and stuff that is exactly what you expect from these guys. I enjoyed it and liked the rocky references including the song at the end, cry of the cougar, funny.

"now tell me am I lying? Cause you, you're part eggplant"

I also thought it was funny and enjoyable <--- nothing wrong with a comedy that falls under that description :)

If at first you don’t succeed, call it version 1.0

Enjoyable? I must of rented a different movie. This was *beep*

reply

No maybe it was just the wrong person renting the right movie...

What are your favourite comedies anyway? I would classify this comedy as toilet humour and i do agree it was a stupid movie but i still found it funny.

ah, finally somebody else who like SUPER TROOPERS and esp. BEERFEST and dislikes THE SLAMMIN' SALMON.

The movie sucked like CLUB DREAD in my book. Bad timing, old jokes, corny jokes, unfunny one-liners. The face-burn joke should have been a running gag. The gross out scenes were not gross out enough. The characters were stiff and generally not funny. I laughed a couple of times when Zongo was running things. Now that was back to old form. No wonder this went straight to DVD/BR.

I dug beerfest and supertroopers, i just liked this one too. there is something about these movies that makes me enjoy them no matter how bad it is. maybe because my expectations are pretty low.. or because im usually grilled.

What didn't make sense. If you don't make money i punch all of you. if the guy doesn't take pills he goes nuts. Actor got kicked off for getting plastic surgery. dude ate brownie with diamond in eat and had to *beep* it out. two twins. man yeah this stuff is really hard to understand. god so hard. i mean are you *beep* serious. this movie was hilarious.

He goes nuts without taking pills because he has a psychological disorder. My guess is that it is Dissociative Identity Disorder (unless it said the disorder in the movie but I don't remember that. Taking medication for it would be highly important so other personalities would not come out.

He had "Mental Illness Disorder" which was a mix of several things, OCD, DID, etc. (even though DID doesn't really exist).

This was okay, I liked some of Nuts' awkward moments moreso than his insane moments. I liked the thumb print thing when Guy screws with him, and the astronaut space helmet line was hilarious.

But come on, the boss punches his employees for not making money? Retarded concept.

I'm a Broken Lizard fan. I loved Beerfest. It's one of my favorite comedies. I'm into their obvious and deliberate sense of humor.

Slammin' Salmon was just not very good in my opinion. I think that same obvious and deliberate delivery was just way too forced. Something about the movie seemed off. It picked up a little towards the end when everything just went haywire but other than that I did not enjoy the movie.

Michael Clarke Duncan was funny but not hilarious. Jay had his moments as well. I especially like the part where he's hallucinating and serving a table full of cats. Then they cut back to reality and he's shoving a whole fish in someone's mouth. That's the only part where I really L'd OL.

I wish the movie had more sequences like that. It's like the scene in Beerfest where Jay is wasted and imagines going home with the beautiful black woman only to wake up next to Monique.

In my opinion the effort was there but in the end the results were lacking.

I adore this movie. I own it and watch it many times a year. I watch it more than any of the other Broken Lizard movies. I think of them as an American Monty Python.

reply

They are nowhere near Monty Python's league.

This movie had some funny ideas and jokes but the production and direction were terrible. Its shot in such a bland boring way. Its obvious they didn't have much money but it looks really amateurish.
