Servers, especially fine dining appreciate this movie.

I can understand if you didn't like this movie. It didn't really cover a broad spectrum of comedy for everyone. Even waiting was funny if you were never a server. But if you've ever served in a fine dining restaurant there are about 40 spot on jokes that you'd catch. Making this movie probably the only comedy that will ever be made about fine dining. So for 30g's it wasn't much of a movie overall, but it was funny and worth watching. For such a low budget it was probably something they felt like doing since they probably all got hell from customers while all the actors worked in fine dining before they got their breaks.

Disagree. Before I continue I'll throw out there that I was a restaurant/bar waiter at one point in my life.

To me the movie 'Waiting...' didn't hit home if you were never a waiter. That movie while a comedy did take itself a bit more seriously. Many non-waiter folks would say BS (a person never acts that rude, chefs don't drop food like that, there's no dick games, the manager doesn't try to score with the hostess, co-workers F'in in the bathroom, etc) and it's all ENTIRELY true, right up to the party at the end with boos/drugs. That is for the most part a SPOT ON depiction of bar waiting in a small town, complete with "What more are you going to do with your life?"

This movie was flat out slapstick goofball comedy. Everyone understands that some customers are jerks to waiters, but this movie did it in a way where the customers were so over the top out of line that it was a suspense belief interpretation of the service industry. Everything else was just flat out ridiculous in a hilarious/comedic fashion. The girl with the 3rd degree burns, the lineman knocking over tables, the owner riding in on a horse and the customers applauding (WTF?), straight down to the owner threatening to beat up (and actually doing it) to employees.

Waiting IMO is a drama into the lives of waiters. It just happens to be funny/comedy because in real life waiters in that kind of setting are pretty much in a real life comedy (yep I was there, I'm allowed to write that).

Slamming Salmon was a true comedy that was just set in a restaurant.

Mind you I liked Waiting better, to me it was a more complete film - but Slammin Salmon got the most laughs from me.
