Not As Good Without Ken Stott

It was good last night with a good storyline, and probably will be even better tonight in the climax scenes, but it's not the same without ol' Red tracking down the killer. Marc Warren is no Ken Stott.

But that aside it's good to see a new Messiah on the box. Better than all the usual corny country-bumpkin or period drama crap we've been getting flooded with recently...

Couldn't agree more. The (admiitedly hugely popular) period dramas are not my cup of tea; it's good to see some good old fashioned religious themed serial killer dramas on a sunday night!

'You know, it ain't altogether wise, sneaking up on a man when he's handling his weapon'

Despite most murders have nothing to do with religion????

That's what probably makes this more interesting.

I completely agree! Ken as Red was brilliant, I'm pretending I'm watching a completely new programme. Not Messiah at all, brand new series never heard of before lol.

It just seemed to lack the high gothic drama of the others, which I'm attributing to a Stott-deficiency. I kept hoping Marc Warren would should at people 'We have to go back the beginning. recheck everything!' or 'There's something we're not seeing!'. just like Ken used to do :)

'Right, the shop is closed, everybody get out! Back on the streets, you time-wasting bastards!'

Have to admit, I am new to the whole Messiah experience, I had never seen the olds ones but knew of them. Just watched the one's from last night and tonight and loved them. Brill religious murder drama, really good quality and makes a diff from what has been on recently, think I may try and catch the older ones...

Well it was a good story well laid out with a couple of nice twists - and they didn't make it obvious who the killer was either. The only problem was the lack of Ken Stott. Warren did an amiable job but it just wasn't the same without Stott...

Maybe there's hope for a Messiah VI, with Ken Stott of course.
