pretty bad but if your a zombie lover...

I'll watch almost anything with zombies in it, and I like super intellectual movies, PBS, independent films, long boring foreign movies, but I like zombie movies too. this is watchable, not great, but watchable.

but why can't they get the small details right? these guys who land on the island are supposed to be military people. but there is one scene where they are walking around and suddenly they are ambushed, shot at from an unseen person hidden in the woods. the main character guy with the beard, after the shots ring out, just sort of casually walks around upright, very slowly. he fires off a few rounds into the woods, and continues to just sort of walk around as if it's no big deal. then he freaks out about his partner, and says "get down!" then his partner is shot. this is just so dumb it's amazing. any military guy would immediately seek cover after being shot at, yet this guy is just standing up straight as hell and walking around in the open. this sort of thing makes for a bad movie. it's not realistic. then in the final shootout between the two clans, it's not much better. man, if your being shot at, you get DOWN! it's basic and I don't know what romero was thinking, maybe tying to make him look macho, I'm so macho I don't care if I get shot, I'll just shrug it off. this is the kind of thing you see frequently in a sub par low budget movie. I guess he doesn't care.
