Uh, does anyone display pain in this film?

The opening scene the Army officer gets his face bitten off and not as much as a squeak out of him. Then the scene where they find the rednecks in the woods and the main guy shoot one of them pretty close to the guy's heart and the guy doesn't even act like he is in any pain whatsoever. I would blame bad acting but this is bad directing. Ol' George shoulda hung up his spurs after Day.
