Anti-Arabic message

No I am not Arabic, nor should it matter. However, it seems this film had a lot of anti-Arabic dialog. All the jokes towards the (lovely) Frida Abbas (Janette Armand) seemed excessive. I'm sure that she is not even Arabic in real life. It's become typical of movie making to cast a person as a race other than their own, then make fun of that race.

That was the point...

So... what you're saying is that the film follows a standard movie cliche.

I beg to differ from your summation of this films motives. It was clearly anti-conservative American.

The zombie out break was reported by the TV reporter as a terrorist attack, citing a video from a Jihad leader the year before. Obviously a reference to many of the Osama bin Laden & co. tapes that surfaced after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America. Implying the war on terror was misguided.

The end of the movie even had a mock 9/11 memorial with the previously anti-gun, female mayor, speaking as a converted gun rights advocate, and calling for a homeland security office with a sign behind her that said 9/25, and a mini memorial like those of 9/11 showing the victims of the zombie attack. Complete with anti Arab slogans written in a child's hand that read "I hate Arabs". The message being: Because THAT'S WHY WE WENT TO WAR!! Because conservative Americans HATE Arabs and we teach our kids to hate them too!!

The entire movie was chock full of slams against conservative America. The paranoid preacher who would resort to torture to convert homosexuals, making white America (like the girls boyfriend) look like bigots and racists, claiming that he was a REAL American, or the crazed Canadian father who would torture an Arab woman because it was his right as a new citizen of America!!

On and on and on it went... the grizzly old guy in the church that pulled out his gun, because everybody knows that conservative Christians "Cling to their Bibles and guns"!! In fact, everyone in the church was either a gun nut, homophobic or completely insane. Because you would have to be crazy to believe in God, to not accept the homosexual lifestyle or to condemn sin.

There were many more slams to conservative America and I am not surprised or shocked. In fact it is so prevalent in today's entertainment industry and society in general, that it is close to business as usual. The only thing that surprises me is that more people don't see it, and instead choose to NOT see it.

A sign of the times.... or as the preacher in the movie stated, ARMAGEDDON!!
Because EVERY disaster or notable event is ARMAGEDDON in the conservative Christians mind .... Don't-cha-know!!

3 out of 10 stars....for Janette Armand's acting and beautiful eyes!!

My God !! It's full of stars....

Thorn...
If someone put a thousand dollars in front of me, I couldn't improve on your take on this movie. The "right" bashing is such "a given" Hollywood cliche that's it's not even edgy anymore. It's just too easy. But for someone to actually make fun of our current president... Not for the fact that he's black, but the simple fact that he SUCKS. I don't think we'll see that anytime soon.

Again, I will agree with the OP... Janette Armand saves this film... BARELY.
A horror movie that isn't scary... A comedy that's unfunny.
This film makes ALL Americans look lame & stupid.
Aside from Armand... This film had some decent gore effects as well. But I don't think I'll ever see this again...

Trust me,

My, you're nosey, aren't you?

The OP clearly missed the point.
The Arab "jokes" weren't making fun of Arabs, they were actually making fun of the ignorant people who say such stupid things without even realizing how ignorant they sound. Thornwood summed it up quite nicely with his post.
