Spoiler...scene in back of van

How did the scene in back of the van possibly be related to "Praying for Herb's soul?" Was getting Pippa off they way they thought would do that?

Your explanation makes sense but I get the OP. When I was watching it and it came to the van scene I was just like WTF Pippa's going to get off AGAIN?!!

This was a good story but it's not for everyone. And unless you realize it's a very sexual story, you may go into it expecting something else. All of the sexuality in it was very off putting for me, I wasn't expecting it.

I agree. When I first seen this movie and this scene came up, I was like, "Huh? What am I looking at?" It shocked me. But I'm not ashamed to say that I ended up liking the scene a lot. But on a serious not, I think the scene was to express a change and point for Pippa and Chris. It's like the other two posts said:in this scene, this was probably the first time in her life that she didn't have to worry herself to near insanity on doing various tasks for those she thought needed her the most and here someone else is doing something for her for a change. But also I looked at it as Pippa and Chris' intimacy and emotional understanding growing.

Very well put, FordMadox. That's sorta similar to how I saw the scene. In a way, her old life along with Herb is dying and her new life is being 'born' as she's finally being to 'let go' sexually, mentally and emotionally.

Just watched this a few hours ago, and I'm starting to feel the question you pose here is the very key of this movie. (Not saying I have the answer.)
