What is your final assessment of this show?

Overall, I'd say this was definitely a great show. Better than Seed, WAY better than Destiny. Seiji Mizushima did a fantastic job directing this show and for the most part all the major characters were nicely developed, especially Setsuna. I can't wait for this show to come out on DVD here in the U.S. I'm definitely gonna trade in very single Destiny volume I owe in exchange for a 00 volume.

Anyway, what say you? Was this a solid series?

It wasn't perfect and it had a few flaws but Mobile Suit Gundam 00 was a solid addition to the Gundam franchise. It started out pretty slow but the pacing picked up. Season two kinda stumbled a bit but finished off nicely.

They're all the same movie. That's why Hollywood movies are like visits from old friends.

But yeah, I agree, Gundam 00 was a really decent series. I very much enjoyed it. It had it's flaws, like anything, but was greatly entertaining nonetheless.
I'd recommend it, but it's definitely not for everyone.

As I said in another thread, it's now my second favorite Gundam, which was previously 0083. I'd have to say my fave is 08th MST, and then this one, making one from each category (UC and AC).

I was wowed by some of the first season eps (SyFy), and was eagerly awaiting the 2nd season. I started watching the subs with s2 ep 18 and thought it was going kinda slow at first, then I watched the scene where they were shooting down all the falling pieces from the elevator and got kind of excited. And I thought the ending was pretty good. A few flaws but overall pretty great.

I'd have to say that I really love this show, I'm not entirely sure why I do but I do.

I started to watch 00 when the 5th episode aired on Syfy. I didn't think I'd like it all that much, but I was curious. So I decided to give it a try. But when I got to episodes 12 and 13, I had practically fallen in love with the series. From then on I was hooked. The storyline was cool. The art of the characters, the mobile suits, and the world itself looks absolutely amazing. The characters were interesting enough, I really cared about most of them.

I've never actually watched any Gundam series before, because I wasn't all that interested in Mecha series until a couple years ago. But I am really glad I got into the series, I was really missing out.

I think 00 is really good to get into if you haven't seen any other Gundam series, and it will most likely get you to want to watch the rest of the Gundam series. (like me)
