Does anyone know if Cheryl Hines was always going to direct this movie or if she is just stepping in since the death of Adrienne Shelley?

Yeah she is going to be directing this movie. I saw her last night at a special screening of Waitress and she talked about it.

Meg Ryan, Tim Hutton, Justin Long and Kristen Bell are all attached to act in it as well.

Filming starts next week! I believe it's only going to be a 15 day shoot. Should be great!

Does Cheryl even have any previous experience as a film director?

Since Adrienne didn't write a movie that she didn't direct before, I'm sure Cheryl Hines is taking over. I mean, they were friends, so I would understand why she would.

It's really sweet. It makes me want to see this even more, knowing that Cheryl Hines is helping Adrienne's script become a film.
