How was Mark Ruffalo not considered for any awards for this gritty understated gem of a film? He delivers a raw, complicated performance. His Boston accent sounds authentic, and his scenes with his wife and children are emotional and heartbreaking. Such a terrific actor in a film that I wish had gotten a proper release.

I was really impressed with Ruffalo, Hawke and Amanda Peet. Really intense and compelling performances from all three.

I agree with you 100%. I think this is his best performance and I was shocked to see the IMDB user score so low. I thought it would be in the high 7's. I guess people aren't into acting and character development anymore.
shareGood to know, I've become a big Ruffalo fan and this is one of his flicks I haven't seen yet. It'd be nice to see him in more serious roles, and this seems to fit perfectly.
