The problem I have with Green Lantern is the ring. When he puts the ring on he becomes a demigod, when he takes it off he's a nobody. Take away his ring, you take away the Green Lantern.

shareNo it's pretty garish, I agree. The director Martin Campbell has actually done some stellar movies prior to Green Lantern (GoldenEye; Mask of Zorro; Casino Royale). But he admitted he wasn't used to CGI effects heavy blockbusters like that. Keep in mind this movie cost $200 million. But evidently, a movie that expensive can still look like shit if the director and crew don't know what they're doing.
