In my opinion this movie is actually quite underrated. I do think that the scenes that takes place on earth is not bad, not bad at all. However the scenes that takes place in the space is unfortunately poorly done but overall it is way better that what most people say. At least in my opinion.

I also agree with the OP. We can all agree that the graphics are bad but the actors acting is pretty good. I particularly was impressed with the actor who played Hal Jordan's brother (forgot his name) after he has transformed. The character isn't one dimensional, you can feel sorry for him, and at the same time realize he is evil. Goes from lispy giggle to angry shouting, to miserable howling. Etc.
Sinestro actor (I know he is widely known and usually plays bad guys but the name escapes me) is also good in my opinion.
Too bad Angela Basset didn't get any substantial scenes in the film.
It's a film for teenagers. What do you expect?
