Accent?

I enjoyed this very thought provoking film. And Al Pacino was great. In some of his later films, he has gone off on some strange tirades that seem out of place(Heat, Scent of a Woman, etc) but I think this is his best work since Donnie Brasco. That being said, his accent is a Minnesota accent. I've lived there and recognize it as such. I have never lived in Michigan but I do know a few people from there and find their accent quite a bit different, similar to a Chicago accent. A good film regardless.

I just watched this tonight. I'm from Michigan and I immediately noticed a few of the characters donning Minne-sooooodah accents. The only place you might hear an accent like that in MI would be in the upper peninsula, but no one in this movie was from the U.P. I kind of cringed at the accent thing because it shows someone's ignorance. Either the actors' or the director's. We simply don't talk like that here. Well, maybe Gretchen Whitmer does but I have no idea what's up with her accent.
