Blu-ray review for 'Lay the Favorite'

This is a case where the big names in front of (and behind) the camera probably wound up hurting this project. It's not hard to see why they were attracted to these quirky characters and a smaller, low-pressure production that allowed them to hang out in Las Vegas for a few weeks. In the end, the star power (Bruce Willis, Vince Vaughn, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and a painful performance by Rebecca Hall) proved to be a terrible match for the scrappy material and had the unfortunate side effect of making it seem like all these people were slumming.
