An incredibly good series...

...as well as a sad one. You must check it out.

This forum is so lonely.

More people need to see it. Dan, you know it's been a few weeks since I finished this show, and I still think about it quite a bit. It left an impression. Plus I added the manga to my reading list. But it hasn't been updated in a while.

My post was so lonely Idle, thanks for giving it some company.

Ahh, it's the least I could do for you, Dang. I think pretty soon here I'm going to start looking for Mushishi. This guy keeps bugging me (no pun intended), he says it's one of the greatest things he's ever seen.

Mushishi....was good. I really forget a lot of titles. That's why my top ten always changes.

Yeah, it's good for a watch, not my favorite but still in the mid to high 8 range.

Damn, Shion no Ou is good. You would think with a show about Shogi(a game that I don't understand) that it wouldn't be interesting, but it is.

Yeah, the thing that makes me hesitate with Mushishi is that someone said it's kind of episodic, and I like a clear cut storyline over one shots. I am very interested in the movie, though.

Hmm, the way you keep talking about that shoji anime I just may have to bump it up on my list...

How many episodes is it?

Yeah I like a like clear cut storylines as well, though for some shows(Darker Than Black, though it was every 2 eps) it was actually good like that.

Shion no Ou should be at the top, or near it. I love the characters, especially Shion, and she is a silent protagonist, you only hear her in monologues. And since you like clear cut storylines, it has a nice long murder to unravel. So far ep 16 is the farthest that's been released and according to sources it will be 22 eps. The only thing that could ruin it for me, is if the ending is rushed.

I will just say that this is an outstanding series with a very deep storyline. It's one of the kind that makes you think about our world and society.
I recommend it to everyone. You, both, are not alone :)

Oh, and by the way, other amazing anime that makes you think similar things (and are just as sad) includes "Kino's Journey" and "Now and Then, Here and There".
