Can someone give an example to some hidden messages of this show?

I got the plot and the sex humour of this show but nothing else. Can someone give an example to the deeper meaning of this show?

If you don't get the deeper meanings you need to open a can of philosophical thirst worms and watch it again and again..

Since you don't seem to 'get' the show, I'm going to do this for you. If you don't like Xavier, take the time to read this to at least UNDERSTAND why others like it. I'm going to break down some of the hidden meanings and stuff at least from my perspective from one of the episodes.

From season 1 the 'sixth teat of good intentions' : "America needs to stop its selfish search for missing children.. and search for the child within" .. Seriously though sometimes upon the second viewing of an episode you'll notice things you didn't the first time, and a lot of times there's a hidden foreshadowing and stuff. For instance there is a scene in 'sixth teat..' where Xavier is having a flashback of the shaman which turns into an executioner who says "your destiny is demise", which at that point makes no sense, but later in the episode, after Xavier's snake hand eats all the babies and he turns into the everchild, the everchild is executed (when that happens it becomes an egg that Xavier bursts out of)

You have to watch the episode to get all of the dialog, but even under the many layers of double, triple, and quadrouple entendre and wordplay, the message in the story is very warped and funny as well. The theme to the episode is 'the child within' but in several ways. First it could be about missing/abducted babies, the fact that xavier consumed the babies (they are WITHIN him), or the INNER child. Also, was the Everchild the child within Xavier, or was Xavier the child within the Everchild?

They leave you to draw these correlations and conclusions and to ponder the meaning on your own, by throwing it all at you in under 15 minutes, and as I said its layered.

And not only all this but in the plot to that episode, the whole thing with Xavier "finding" the 'abandoned' children that the woman set down for a MOMENT. Xavier thinks that he is helping and that he rescued seven babies. When the mother is talking to Xavier and says she's lost her 7 babies, Xavier casually says he has babies of his own and mocks her for being an irresponsible mother. The irony of the situation alone is hilarious, but its taken to another level when he vows to find the kidnapper. Obviously all the clues lead straight to himself, but instead of realizing it was him who was the kidnapper, he thinks that the kidnapper is always a step ahead of him, and framing him every step of the way.

And at the end of the day after eating all the stolen babies and ruining the mothers life (even tore up her house looking for 'evidence', and the police dog ate her last baby I think) Xavier believes he accomplished a great deed and continues on his journey, feeling self righteous and everything.

It's fantastic. Then there are people who take one glance at the show "ugh, *beep* sim graphics, and what the *beep* is with that voice acting? Did he just make a sex joke? This show is so ugly and random. What, you say this show has deeper meaning, are you retarded? There is NO story and its RANDOM. I get it, I don't NOT get it, this show is terrible!"

If anything the graphics and voice acting are hilarious and are the cherry on top of this brilliantly written show.

Every episode has thought out jokes and are really clever, every single one, but you could make the exception for 2 episodes from season 2, the 2 "Damnesia vu" ones, which didn't have a clear set story (or as close to one as you get) as every single other episode of the series. Even then though if you watch them again you will notice there is STILL symbolism, funny jokes, etc.

You REALLY have to take this show for more than its face value. Some people pick up on the humor and others don't seem to see it. It's relatable to the kind of humor you find in "the Onion" (search youtube if you dont know what it is and watch some of their news stories), where you have to listen to what the anchors are saying and follow the stories. It's usually apparent how ridiculous the stories are that it's satire, but it's delivered so dead-pan a lot of people mistake it for a real news show when they see it the first time. But for Xavier instead of the humor being underneath the mask of a news program its under the mask of Sims 2 graphics and whatnot, and some people just can't get past that.

Good post nickshorts.

The only episode that is random is 'Damnesia You' and thats only because it is a compilation of fan submitted videos. As nickshorts said even 'Damnesia Vu' seems random but isn't. The symbolism is incredible.

Damnesia Vu as well has its "sequel" Damnesia You, gave me the impression that Joyce's Finnegans Wake was a heavy influence, but that could be because I just finished the book when watching that episode...

Those are my two favorite episodes.

I like how people on here knock Xavier's "random" humor, when in all actuality that describes nearly every other adult swim show. Xavier's humor is extremely layered and full of depth. Just brilliant.

EXACTLY poly. Every show on AS apart from The Boondocks (which I'm not a fan off) is insanely random. Xavier has it's random stuff but they are usually Dadaist and not just random for no reason.

If you ever notice, people throw complaints in this film's directly, like the aforementioned "it's too random" or "it's poorly animated". Then, they defend ... you know, the usual Williams Street lot, Aqua Teen/Perfect Hair/Sealab/etc. Now I don't MIND those shows, but the criticism leveled at Xavier is just riidculous. The biggest that always get me is that it's "not funny". I think people who watch this show don't really understand that it's not necessarily a comedy (though I find a lot of it hilarious) and you actually have to leave your brain on to get it. I know a lot of people who don't like this show, and they are your typical Tim and Eric pothead AS viewers.

But some more, uhm, "special" people that I know tune into adult swim JUST to watch xavier. I think that's the ultimate problem with this show. It just doesn't fit in with adult swim -- it doesn't fit in ANYWHERE, and I dunno if adult swim really could promote the show better or differently than it already has (though, really, they haven't promoted it much at all)... but yeah. Thanks to Adult Swim for putting this on tv to begin with, it's a shame that most of their fans aren't spiritually enlightened enough to understand it yet.

I finally get it... it's TOO GOOD to be funny.

all of the episodes have the same meaning, and that's "if you get *beep* ed up on too many drugs, you'll end up writing xavier renegade angel"

xavier is a navel-gazer who is constantly overstating thing's importance, and is portrayed as a complete dope. the show revolves around how toxic xavier is as an influence to the people around him. thus, the creators are seemingly saying something about not taking life too seriously, and to accept things at face value more often - some valuable advice in my opinion.

encoded enough for you?
