They've pushed David Del Rio out of the cast

Replaced him with someone else. NOT cool.

That's simply not true. We had the entire season broken (outlined) with David starring in it when he called us to say that after two episodes of shooting, he would pursuing another acting role (on Broadway). We scrambled and were lucky enough to get Matt Shively in our cast. And as a thank you to David for all his great work, we had Matt wear the WWFD (What Would Felix Do) t-shirt when we introduced his character.

Thanks for clarifying that. I was wondering where David went myself.

reply

Interesting. Don't you guys usually have contracts to avoid that type of thing?

Bringing back socks and sandals. What? What? What? Socks and sandals!

reply

There's always an 'out' clause.

reply

Ahh.. Makes sense. Kinda sucks that he wouldn't at least film a proper write off though.

Matt Shively, while super cute and pulls off the goof prett well, he's just not David! David played a gay (at least the character was gay in my opinion) super nerd like no one else! He will be missed.

What?

That's three quarters! A whole dollar.

reply

What what?

reply

Your post about him playing a gay character is totally out of left field.

reply

Uh... not really. I mean, he's pretty flamboyant. Did you see the episode where he was in drag? He enjoyed that way too much, lol. And just for the record, I'm not saying the character of Felix was gay in a derogatory way.

reply

I don't remember that episode in particular but I'm sure it was meant to be just for comedic effect. As for being flamboyant, I guess I can see you might reach that conclusion, but just because a person comes off as a little overly enthusiastic, I don't think he should be considered gay.

I think you're thinking of it as an insult, which it isn't. It was actually a bit of a compliment, especially for a kids show, which to me makes it a bit more... progressive than most tv.

I saw a few of the newer episodes and was wondering, "where the hell is David Del Rio?" He was my only reason to watch this show. Got to look up more info on him now that i know he is on Broadway.

reply

yeah, he was one of the reasons i watched the show. hm. oh well

matt shively is super cute though
