I just watched this and I liked most of it, but while I liked seeing Gretchen again and she was badass when she killed that woman in the shower room, I think they made her a bit too soft in this. I'm talking about her approach to Sara in general and especially her not ratting Sara out at the end. I mean, this is a ruthless character. Just in season 4 alone she:

garroted a guy to death with total indifference (episode 7)

planned on screwing over the team by possibly killing them (episode 11)

gunned down mr. white like it was nothing, and also tried to kill t-bag, again without any remorse (episode 12)

tried to kill Sucre and Lincoln without a second's hesitation (episode 14)

I know that she loved her daughter, which I liked because it gave her character depth, but she seeemed way too nice to Sara in this. It didn't seem to be in character for her IMO.

She was using Sara to get out. If she used her old tactics, Sara would have closed up and stonewalled her.

i think it was good to see a little softer side to her...

She wanted Sara to take her "emily" necklace to her daughter... that's why she didnt rat her out

I think the writers already showed how hardcore she is so they needed to give her a little more depth. She was one of the better parts of the movie. I really enjoyed watching her and Sarah together. (It doesn't hurt that the actress playing Gretchen is so damn sexy)
