something to consider, left wide open
--WARNING-- THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS TO THE SHOW AND MOVIE!!!
Well, as all avid Prison Break fans have witnessed, unless you physically see a person getting shot through the head (even the chest doesn't count, i.e. Mahone) or dead in their coffin (Bellick), there is a chance that they are still alive. I figured, and I'm sure many of you did too, that they would bring Kellerman back into this at some point; we never saw him die. I wasn't expecting C-Note; I never thought he was that strong of a character. But when I heard the name "Paul", all I could think was, "oh god!" And then when he actually showed on screen, I was screaming "I KNEW it!!! I KNEW it!!!" Not completely surprised, just "HA!!" I'm sure many of you had that same reaction... By season 4, I had already figured out as soon as they didn't show Wyatt kill Gretchen that she was still alive. Heck, we even saw Sara, her face white as a sheet, drool running down, and we all thought she overdosed. Then later we get to see her head in a box, and she's still alive and kicking. This show has always made a big point in actually showing the person die. We saw C-Note attempt suicide, but hey, the guard saved him. So what I'm getting at is, in this movie we never see Michael dead. I think it was rather odd that the show broke with its consistencies of actually showing the person's body. Yes, we THINK he's dead, and yes, in "Killing Your Number" we see his tombstone, but Christina Scofield was "dead" for how many years? And if Michael was elctrocuted/burned/charred/blown up/whatever, it could very possibly have been a closed casket funeral, if anyone important was even around for it--they were fleeing for their freedom. So, this show/movie leaves itself open to bring Michael back.
Think about this: the General was a smart man. Their technology saved Christina how many years earlier, and technology is always advancing. But they couldn't save Michael??? Scenario: The General could have ordered his doctors to make a temporary fix on Michael's brain. If Lincoln failed to retrieve Scylla, Michael would die anyway, but if Michael joined the Company, he'd get another operation, this time a permanent fix.
SO... What if Michael was only injured in the women's prison? What if the advanced medicine in Scylla was able to save him?...again. Kellerman could have been watching in the wings and used his influences to have the docs fix him up...again. If the feds were smart, they would fake Michael's death, naturally to ensure that Lincoln would not dutifully attempt ANOTHER prison break, Sara and Lincoln are none the wiser, and it's just a matter of time until Michael gets out of the hole and figures out an escape. Another point of fact, in the show, why 4 years later? Is that significant, or is that just a nice round number? This show is for the most part flawless, EVERYTHING means something. Was Michael in solitary for 4 years? Was he getting treatments that lasted for 4 years? Maybe that combined with him planning his escape. Get a few new inmates that desperately want out of prison, and you've got another season. Or movie. Of course, this could just be my overactive imagination, because I really hate that they killed off Michael, but seriously, this show left itself wide open if you really think about it.
