I expected more for James. He got the girl he wanted, but the only reason he wanted her was because she turned him down. Once he got her he would move on soon after. Plus she was Kendalls leftover. I thought he would end up with a Jennifer (Blonde Jennifer probly), or Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls as that was the girl he wanted before he got famous. Also didnt care for Carlos with the Spy Kid girl. He should have had a Jennifer.

shareI'm glad he didn't end up with a Jennifer. They would only want him because he's famous now. It would have been funny if his kiss in the finale was with Nicole Sherzinger instead of Lucy because of what he said in the pilot.
When James first met Lucy he only wanted her because she was the new girl. If she had gotten with him then it would have been superficial and I kind of think out of character for Lucy. It wouldn't have lasted as long as Lucy's relationship with Kendall. On that same note if she'd chosen Carlos instead I think she would have walked away during the first date. Carlos and Lucy don't seem like a good match at all. Back to James. As I see it, it's James sacrificing himself for Lucy in Big Time Pranks II that shows his feelings for her aren't superficial. James has been shown as this vain, egotistical, pretty boy who only cares about his looks and puts himself above anything else. It's a silly prank war, but it's very important to the boys and James sacrificed himself. It's a sign of maturity in James. I think that's what getting Lucy in the finale represents. James has matured, Lucy sees that, and that's what she's attracted to.
Carlos with Alexa is perfect because real life. Again, it would have been wrong for him to end up with a Jennifer because they only wanted him now because he was famous and a somebody. BTR had become the famous boy band up for five Tween Choice Awards. If that's what it took to get the Jennifers to want him they aren't worth it. Carlos ends up with a girl who likes him for him and not for being famous. (well it is hard to say that since they did just meet and all that, but I like to think she was genuinely interested in him and not his fame)
