Sad News but not so fast?

It's not a break up, it's a break. Should we be wishing for new stuff in the future? Probably not. It's the third album curse. ;) No, actually, the show is over (and we should have known that when the third album came out since on the show that was the contract they had with Griffin--3 albums). Carlos is engaged (funny how on the show he's the last one to get a girl and in real life he's the first to get engaged). Their show is hard work. They deserve a break. They can do their individual things (Ooh, Big Time Break Out) and perhaps not be so busy making a show about a boy band for a while (it's more work, I'd imagine, than a regular TV show).

They say break and we all hear break up. That is what happens most of the time, especially when they want to do their own individual things. Bands do go on breaks, even do individual things, and do come back together (I just hope we don't have to wait ten years like we've been doing for most boy bands these days).

As I said the most important thing was if the boys wanted to continue doing it. If they don't then there's nothing we can do. What I think is their recording contract is up and they decided to take some time off before signing a new one if they ever do. They fulfilled that contract and since they're not kids anymore (not that they were when they started) they want to do more mature stuff.

Backstreet Boys went on a break. Came back after two years with the sing "Invisible" and then stuck around (quietly until now). NSYNC went on a break and Justin became a star. 98° went on break, Nick thought he could have a solo career and decided to be an acapella competition show host instead and his brother decided to learn how to ballroom dance. ;) NSYNC is the only one not to do a reunion tour(though they did get together on the VMAs this year and I wouldn't exactly call BSB tours a reunion).

Take from this: BSB took a two year break after their third album and they came back. Bands take breaks to live lives because being a band (especially a boy band) is VERY demanding. They need to pay attention to their private lives as well as what else they'd like to do with their careers. This is a break not a break up meaning they're going to take time away and give themselves the opportunity to regroup in the future if they want that.

I feel like I'm writing a huge essay on this. Sorry. I just get passionate on message boards about whatever the topic.

I hope we do see good things from them individually or as a group. This is not a break up as in they don't want to work together anymore (like how The Beatles broke up). If they want to come back and do some more BTR stuff then they have that option. There's a reason they said "we're taking a break from the band" and not "we're breaking up." James has said that he would like to do more mature things and I can see that. Nickelodeon is fun, but it's kids.

TLDR: They're taking a break not breaking up which means no new things right now. Does it mean new things in the future? No one knows and that includes the boys.

ETA: I keep thinking about it and I think maybe what happened is the show is over and they don't know what to do, since they are so tied with Nickelodeon, that the only thing they know to do is take a break right now.
