B.S. Reviews. Anyone ACTUALLY see this movie?

Because I sure as hell ain't going by the reviews up here. I understand friends and family of indie filmmakers come out to support projects but seriously, at least try. Your superfluous ten star generalizations are transparent and frankly dissuade me from wanting to see it because "reviews" like that almost confirm a crappy film.

So yeah... a REAL review, you know one that includes specific details, would be greatly appreciated.

my sentiments exactly!
why do they do that...ruin it. Im more enticed to watch a movie if left wondering if the movies r good, rather than read a bunch of lies & be turned off. Than I dont watch it at all.

Was just looking into this myself and having a lol.

Here's 4 of the people that have reviewed this film.

Marcia Fitzgerald
Abigail Poling
Josh Davis
Linda Michaels

These same people have written 4 out of 5 of the 10* reviews for a different film, Fear of Fiction (2000).

The last 10* review was by mclovin1001.

I smell a rat.

I'm pretty sure mclovin1001 is a troll based on some of his posts

Sorry about the fake reviews..... I actually try and desuade fake reviews..... but you can't stop some. You get a lot of poor reviews from people that don't like a film, unfortunately. If you like it, you like it and move on. This is especially true for lower budgeted indie films. Unless it's some ground breaking masterpiece that you just have to tell everyone about.... like "Paranormal Activity" (Sarcasim intended).

So here is my own critique of the movie that I helped make. I don't make excuses. I am proud of the accomplishment and of everyone's hard work.

My biggest complaint..... the movie is too slow. Especially when you've seen it as many times as I have. Luckily it is a short movie. I knew it needed to be short, so at least when the pacing finally picks up it moves along and then ends. I did most of the editing and when you do that you watch a lot of takes, not to mention the amount of times I have actually watched every completed scene. I can't even begin to estimate time into the process.

The acting is decent all around. Everyone has their moments, but nothing stands out as bad acting. If you've watched a lot of horror movies (like I have) both low budget and big budget, you usually see that one (or often more) actor that really drives you nuts with how bad and unbelieveable their delivery is. Trust me those actors are in some of my other micro-budget films that I did many years ago. Thank God I had a much bigger (although really small) budget to make Necrosis with.

Necrosis doesn't break any rules. It plays it safe with the plot, the delivery technique, the look etc. I think this is a decent rental as I have rented movies from the major chains that are much worse. We didn't think we were making ground breaking cinema here. Just trying to entertain you for 80 minutes whether you picked it up at a rental store or flipped channels and caught it on the tube. There has to be content out there and I think this is decent content. The scerenry is pretty, it is an interesting mix of characters with some actual character developement.

There is not a lot of gore. Several women have sat through this and been okay with it. If you are looking for heads getting ripped off and huge blood and guts scenes, this ain't for you. You can see the plotless T&A Bloody flicks that I have rented, fast forwarded through and renturned, disappointed.

There are some scenes that I don't like but it's funny how the critiques I hear point out things that were so insignifcant to me. I guess I am my own worst reviewer.

So, in comparison with other low budget indie horror films I would give it a 7 out of 10.

If I have to compare it to a Hollywood Blockbuster I'd give it a 3 out of 10. I've seen 1's and 2's (at least what I would call them.... actually walking out of a theater.) and Necrosis is not that bad.

So there is a partial review of a film from the Director. And no, I did not rate the film a 10.

Hey Jason

I'll be honest, I only found out about this through a download site today, I love horror movies and the fact that James Kyson Lee was in it made me want to see it - he's awesome in Heroes. The fake reviews were kinda putting me off watching it but after reading your post I decided I'd give it a shot and I was pleasently surprised.

It's by no means the greatest movie ever but I didn't feel it was a waste of my time either like some crap I've watched *cough cough Dust Devil* The acting was good all round (I developed a slight man-crush on George Stults) and the film looked good for the budget. I'll not go into the story too much (which like you said, it's a bit slow) but I'm a fan of the ORIGINAL Amityville and this had that kinda vibe, which is no bad thing. Bit of humour too, the line "if you wanna *beep* Jerry, that's none of my business" was class. Everyone involved gets a high five from me.

The only thing I was disappointed with is while I appreciated seeing Kymberly Jane's cans I've just seen Tiffany's Playboy pics - why didn't you get her to unless the bad boys?!? Did the guy from Hang Time cop a feel of them :D

Anyway, sorry for watching your movie illegally and good luck with your future endeavours. I'll recommend this to some of my bros that watch horror and maybe you'll get some coin out of them, or at least some honest good reviews.

Thanks for the apology on the illegal watch. We all (the people who made it) knew it would happen that it would be torrented. The ironic thing is that if as many people that have already illegally watched the film, had bought (even at a discounted price) we would have been happy and been able to fund the next project, which would just be that much better since we learned from this one. We don't intend on going downhill from here.......

We still are planning another film. Hopefully with at least some of the money made from Necrosis.

Hopefully people will still rent it, put it in their Netflix Q, suggest it to friends or at least tune in when it's out on cable.

Agreed wasn't a very bad movie but couldn't keep me interested for the whole time either. I was expecting a cabin fever movie when after i read the reviews then i thought it was going to be a survival movie when i started watching then it started looking like a zombie movie and repeated this pattern. Felt like it was all over the place i don't know if it was intended but kinda made me lose interest a little.

Several women have sat through this and been okay with it.

So women don't like gore ?

Im not trying to come off as overly critical when i give my comments about this movie. My father is a popular local movie reviewer and I am a huge horror movie buff, from low to high budget. I have seen incredibly bad like "Darkness" to very good like "The Deaths of Ian Stone". I know the issues with horror movies. I only give my opinion because this movie showed promise but seemed to lack follow through.
My main problem with this movie is it slacked in places that I thought should have been incredibly locked down. Every line delivered felt like my local community theater's children's plays. The laughs from the characters felt forced and everything just seemed to lack "heart". James Kyson-Lee started off not being too bad but as the movie creeped along seemed to almost give up on being believable. George Stults seemed to change between emotions like a pms-ing pregnant, hungry, bear. First he has values and doesn't want the girl, then he does, then he is a hero, then he gets shot, but he is ok. After he is hurt he turns to Megan to ask if Jerry has shot Samantha. He says, "He killed her didn't he". The line is said like he is blurting out the answer on a game show, I would think a person would show a bit more grief. It just became real hard to believe. Danielle De Luca seemed like she really could have cared less about her boyfriend, her baby, or dying in the mountians. At times it almost was painfull to watch these characters who seemed to be stuck in "read through" mode. I felt, at times, like I was watching the rough draft of this movie.
It seemed like there could have been things to make the special effects or costuming come off as more thrilling. I understand special effects cost money, which most films don't have, but these problems can be helped in the editing process. The cut after Jerry finds Mike in the snowcat just showed that the film could make you jump, if the editing was done right. Cut 2-3 frames from the walking scenes of the dead girl and she would have come off as very frightening. Instead she looked like a girl with a really good halloween costume, trick-or-treating through my movie. There could have been a little more insight into Jerry going crazy as well. It felt like he just saw these ghosts the whole time but said "*beep* telling people about them, Im just going to be anti-social." It is only once he starts capping people do you realize that he has flipped his wig. The scenes are beautiful and the plot really struck me when I read it on netflix. I was just real dissapointed when the movie was finished, which by the way...It's bad when the last character LITERALLY has to say..."Yes, it's over."
I know this has gone on long enough, Im just hoping that in some way I can help to make the next movie that's made, a little bit better. Basically I would just say, play with the editing more, keep them from getting an extremely good look at your phantom characters, otherwise, they are just actors in costume instead of thrilling tools in a horror movie. Speed their movements up, cut frames from their shots, keep them suspenseful. Don't have them knock on glass. And the last thing, demand a little "heart and soul" from your actors. They are talented and experienced performers, they should have acted like it.

It was total garbage.

I agree. This movie is a stinker. The script is B grade and the actors are wooden. The death scene of the first couple seems to have ended up on the chopping floor and what the heck happened at the end? This movie is incomplete but I'm glad it was or else I would've wasted another half hour of living. 1.5/10

i saw it and thought it was ok. only reason why i bothered with it was because Tiffany had mentioned it sometime last year that she was in it. didnt realize it was just a cameo of sorts. since her character and the boyfriend end up being frozen to death? didnt think that even happened since 'Jerry' doesnt even bother to tell anyone or bring them out there to see the bodies.no one else gets upset either. so the whole time im thinking when are those 2 gonna come back to the cabin? did they get to help in time? etc. etc.
to just write them off like that so suddenly seemed a bit weak.
i didnt have any problems with the acting, other than a few moments where each actor seemed awkward instead of casual. but i let it slide since i was still invested in what was going on.
by the time Jerry goes psycho i felt like the movie was a waste. it had the potential to go somewhere good, but it just went downhill so quickly. the death of Samantha seemed pointless. there was absolutely no drama there, the buildup of her being pregnant and having the conflict with Jerry was all for nothing. Danielle De Luca played more or less a lead part in a film a couple years or so back. and she did a good job. with this film i felt she was very underused. would have preferred her being the survivor instead of 'Megan', who didnt have much screen presence to me. same with Tiffany, she seemed like the only character that didnt have any baggage and was fun to see on screen, and then suddenly shes just written out.

the budget didnt bother me at all, cause like i said, they had a good cast, and for me its all about the actors. if you have at the very least a couple of good actors following a well written story, then itll accomplish something. this movie didnt look cheap and generic but sadly it wasnt well written nor did it have a compelling backstory to bring the suspense.

so i really did enjoy the first half hour but after that the film goes sour.

I haven't, but for the synopsis looks a lot like DEAD SNOW (where they encounter nazi zombies instead of the Donnie thing).

From what I'm seeing here, a lot of people might have seen the film, but few actually paid attention.
