I saw this film at Sundance in January. I thought it was great - Joseph Fiennes is wonderful and Justin Kirk brings some much needed comedy relief to an emotional subject, but is just as convincing in the heavy scenes.

I can't believe you liked this movie! The guys were cute, sure. And the river scenes were nice. But the way that guy was swimming... ugh. He kept saying the water was 'freezing' but he didn't put on a cap. AND he was swimming with his neck and head out of the water. Who does that?? I am from Hawai'i and can easily swim 10 miles today in my 60s, so maybe that's the difference.
At the end when he 'wah wah wah' can't take what life dished out to him so decides to swim away out into never never land, well what a crock. Okay, it was self-'culling the herd', but still! Why didn't they jump on him, knock him out and take him to the psycho ward for a year or two. So he lost a wife. I buried three husbands (natural causes and a car accident) and a child. I'm still here. I'm still finding a way to enjoy life. What a sad sack of nothing he was. So he swam away. All I really have to say ... thank GAWD for my dvr.!!!
Waste of time.
