Seems like Harald Zwart was trying to make a Norwegian version of the movie Armageddon, with a little bit of Deep Impact thrown in at the end.
Unfortunately none of the actors have the screen-presence and experience that Don Johnson has. They all just fade in comparison.

This movie has every cliche possible, and a lot of the commercial-formula the filmmakers have used is lifted from Hollywood movies.
There are contrived characters, forced comic situations and set-ups that aren't relly funny(the board is one example)

Though there are some funny bits in between, none of the Norwegians are particularly interesting characters to watch, and the whole thing feels very staged.

Maybe Zwart should continue making movies in Hollywood....that's clearly where he belongs ; )

I disagree with you somewhat, I would much rather describe it as Armageddon/Jerry Bruckheimer meets Chat Noir (famous Norwegian revue stage). An odd mix of raunchy simple comedy mixed with (convincing) computer effects and military action including "the world's largest submarine". I was also surprised how big Don Johnson's part was. I thought he just had a minor guest appearance but he was in the entire film. This is no movie for "culture snobs" but rather an OK entertainment-film for Norwegians who are looking for a simple laugh.

Well...to any fans of Don Johnson, I guess I would recommend Tin Cup over this.
At least you get a good Kevin Costner performance and some enjoyable characters in the mix ; )

Despite being Norwegian I go out of my way to avoid movies made here because they tend to be utter rubbish, but this is without doubt the best one I've seen. Of course, it would be way worse off without the Don's charisma.

The movie isn't particularily original, consisting mostly of Norwegian "wandering stories" presented on an assembly band, but I felt they were presented well enough for laughs. I liked the board, but then again that comes from familarity because we've had the same sort of discussion where I work.

I got the Armageddon feel too at the last third of the movie too. I think that's more because of the resemblance in set and props than actual plot. It shares some likeness to the entire part where Bruce Willis and the boys pick up Stormare from the space station.
