Why Taiwanese movies, like their TV shows, are only for Junior High?

This 'Summer's Tale' is another horrible movie from Taiwan. How come this terrible screenplay would have possibly made into a motion picture? The directing was so terrble. There was no logic and reasonable direction but a patch-up work randomly chained together. The dialog was just terrible. The acting of all the young, middle aged or old were just horrible. Why most the movies out of Taiwan seemed to be only good for Junior High schoolers or even younger viewers just like their TV shows?

i don't agree with you.
taiwanese teleplays are like all about love.
but this simply shows how teenagers think.
the story is about a-yue, all those scenes are related to her life and these can tell why a-yue thinks like this.
didn't this reminds you of your school life?
but this is my dream school life!
biking home after school, idling all day long...
the one who act huai-jun was the winner of golden horse awards, best new performer, 2 year ago.
but he has too les shot in the film, you probably can't see how good he acts.
you should watch eternal summer to have a better look at him.
for a-yue, now, here, many teenage girls are like this,
they seemed to be acting on stage, having their voice up high and exaggerating expressions.
maybe enno is not acting natural enough, but this is really similar to what teenage girls here.

This is a movie intended for teens. It's not a serious movie like Eternal Summer whose intended audience is a bit older. It is a pleasant depiction of experiences of teens and their relationships. For many adults, it may appear aimless. This is because those of us brainwashed on literary formulas for fiction and plays find it doesn't follow this storytelling convention. I watch this movie to learn Mandarin and new techniques to communicate to teenagers (I teach them), so it doesn't bother me that it doesn't have a logical beginning and ending similar to those that I teach them to analyze in literature.

Most commercial movies are indeed intended for teens (or adults with lower education) because they are the ones actually buying the tickets to watch movies when they skip schools, socialize with each other after school and during holidays. The movie theater is their living room, away from the watchful eyes of their parents. Therefore the plot of these movies has to appeal to them and communicate to them at their reasoning skill level. we only appreciate these glimpses into a teenage world when our job requires us to communicate to them in ways they can understand, not ways we, adults with years of college education, were expected to process when we were writing our theses and dissertations.
