I'm amazed - I actually didn't like it much....

I expected to - I usually do like that kind of 'small' movie, and Caine is always good - I just didn't like it much.

George... don't do that!

An absolute gem of a movie. Caine superb

Hollywood infected your brain. You wanna kiss it in the rain .

I thought that it was great but there are plenty of films out there that other people think are great and I didn't enjoy that much...just personal taste I suppose and also sometimes you have to be in the right mood to fully appreciate certain films.

I agree, unclecessna but I think the OP was trolling as s/he won't tell us what s/he didn't like about the movie. Also, not all "small" films are going to appeal to everyone. There are millions of "small" films out there and they fall into virtually every genre in the world. As such, it's not uncommon for people to like some and not others.

I rather doubt the OP was trolling because it wasn't a very controversial statement. Lots of folks start threads and never answer their replies.

I love "small," slice-of-life films, but I didn't like this as much as I expected to. Michael Caine is outstanding as always, but I just didn't find the characters and plot very compelling, and the relationship between the retired magician and the young boy just didn't ring true with me. It's a decent film, but it should have been so much better considering the talent involved. 6/10 stars from me.

I responded to this post almost a year after the OP. The OP said "I didn't like this movie" and almost nothing else. Multiple people asked him/ her to be more specific but s/he didn't respond. It has now been almost 3 years since the original post. And while I agree that some of the actors did a less good job than Caine, and some of the characters were rather boring, I still say s/he is a troll. If you really don't like a movie and you have enough problems with it that you're willing to start an IMDB page, the least you can do is reply to one of the ten different replies (which IMDB automatically emails you about) within two years of your first post.
