Didn't move me.

I can cry at a shaving advert, I'm that much of a sucker for any waft of emotional pull, but despite all the ingredients being there, this just didn't get to me at all. I fully expected to be watching parts of the film through blurry water filled glasses, but no, not a drop.

I can even identify the bit that should have got me (SPOILERS?) - when the kid sat on his mums lap and cuddled as everything around him fell apart. It bore all the hallmarks of the emotional crunch point. But my only thought at that time was 'Hmm.'

I wish I could understand what it is that is missing from some films. As I say, all the ingredients were in place, but how they were combined in this case just completely missed the mark and I had very little interest in the characters or their situation. Quite disappointing - feels like a waste of a fine cast, and some pretty solid performances.
