call child services

Not on the teens, but on the crappy parents that put their children through something like this.

reply

Agreed. People who would volunteer their kids to be placed in the care of these halfwits do not love their child, simple as that.

reply

I totally agree. Why on earth would you want to give your baby to a bunch of idiot teenagers...

reply

there is too much liability for them to let anything happen to the children...i don't think the parents are crazy, but to each is own

i would put my children on this show if it would stop some dumb teenager from bringing another child into this world that can't be taken care of well

I know what you mean, there is no way in he!! that I would participate in this with my 1-year-old - I mean, I only allow my mom to watch my son right now, and that only recently started happening, and it's only for a couple hours at a time!! But after watching this show, it looks safer than I had originally thought. Parents can constantly monitor them, professional nannies are on-site at all times, ready to intervene.

reply

Did you guys see that they had nannies that were there to supervise and step in if there was an emergency?

The parents did not place their children in a dangerous situation.

reply

I think the producers saying it is a social experience is what got the parents to participate. They seem to want to help these teens.

reply

At first I was horrified that parents were letting their babies live with the teens, but I felt a little better about it when I realized they had nannies in addition to being able to monitor everything.

I'm glad there are people willing to do it if it means stopping teen pregnancies, but I couldn't be one of them.

reply

I admire the parents for doing allowing thier kids to participate. There are so many dumb, bored lonely teenage girls that think having a kid is cute and easy. If this show helps even one of those teens see reality it was worth it and the parents did a good thing.

reply

Kid Nation was worse. At least the parents get to supervise here.

reply

I think the parents on the show are better parents than the majority of the world! Is there any difference between this social experiment and a babysitter? I think I'd rather take the Baby Borrowers. The parents can watch and intervene, professional nannies shadow them and are allowed to step up, and I definitely think the crew is allowed to intervene if, God forbid, a teen lets something dangerous happen to the child.

Really... would you rather hire a 14-year-old babysitter for $7 or so an hour and not know what's happening or be able to monitor everything two 18-19 yos are doing w/ at least three other people in the room? Plus they don't have to pay them and they're doing a favor to teens everywhere to show them that babies aren't the cute little bundles of joy 24/7 - and they don't stay babies forever!

reply

Exactly. It's no different than leaving your kid at home with a baby sitter. Do you call up the local teenaged neighbor to stand watch while you go for a night out? Well, shame on you. Apparently you don't love your child.

The parents all explain beforehand that they think it is a valid experiment and it is important to give teens the experience before they find themselves with their own baby.

Think of all the teenagers of the same age and competence as the kids on this show that bring their own babies into the world every day and DON'T have cameras and nannies on hand to make sure everything is alright.
