Hilary Swank Sucks...
...She gets Annette Bening's Oscars for having her characters die really horrible deaths. I personally don't feel her acting warrants the awards; I think voters were manipulated by the terrible fates of the women she portrayed. They were compassion votes, I believe. Obviously, she's not a bad actress; she's far above average. I wasn't even that upset about her first win. The second win I still can't wrap my brain around. I'm sure the Eastwood Fever helped. Plus, she campaigned so hard one would forget she already had one--and OPRAH ENDORSED HER!
AMELIA sucked something awful. I had to pack it in at the twenty-minute mark. Her redneck/Hepburn accent was excruciating as is her horse-face (Sorry, I swore to myself I'd try to be objective). Also, Richard Gere's ability to get work still baffles me.
While I do find it inspiring how she's come so far with such humble beginnings, the underdog story is getting really old, in her public persona and in her film performances.
I'm not intentionally trolling, but I fully anticipate some message board backlash. Bring it!
