What does Gore Vidal have to do with the story of Amelia Earhart??
I have no idea....so if someone could please clarify.

What does Gore Vidal have to do with the story of Amelia Earhart?

The supposition is that he was one of her lovers after her marriage to George Putnam.

AE's personal request to FDR seems to have saved Vidal's job. See the recent Vanity Fair article for details:

To be perfectly accurate, Gore Vidal was the son of Gene Vidal who is presumed to have been Earhart's lover following her marriage to George Putnam.

Seems he grew up and wrote a rather dodgy novel called Myra Breckenridge.

Rather odd for a child who was supposedly frightened of Jungle patterned wall paper.

and it wouldve been a kick if he had been the one who banged amelia

wouldve explained alot of things
