What is the deal with all those flying aeroplanes?

It seems like the director of this film really does have a penchant for planes. I mean every 10-15 minutes or so throughout the movie, we see an aeroplane passing over the houses or flying somehow in the movie. Granted, I know it is set near an airport but still... The flying planes motif actually became a little tiring through repetition and was constantly drawing attention to itself.

Its an OK movie otherwise though, far from perfect and nowhere near among the best British films even of the 00s, but worth a look and 6 out of 10 I give it and I own it on DVD.
