To be honest...

I really liked it. Few things you need to keep in mind when watching this... its a low budget indie film, so don't compare it to over glamourised horrors from the West. There is a definite sense of tension in this film, i personally was very gripped. So, yeah, i have been reading around through posts on this film and there is a lot of negativity, and like always on IMDB, there is negative things to say with no information to back it up...just stuff like 'its cr*p'...so come on, if you don't like it then why?

I agree, it was a good solid film and for a low budget i didnt notice any problems. Acting felt real, not that i have ever met people like that mind you :)

I thought it was really good, a bit different , good performances , you don`t always need expensive effects an sets somethines just a basic nutter family livin right next to the airport does it. I love Brit horror its raw and exciting.

You should have to pass some kind of IQ test to post on these boards...

In any event, it curtainly wasn't the worst I've seen but curtainly wasn't the best either. The characters were compelling and the shock value was up there for one of two scenes but by and large it came off like the writer had a few shocking horror ideas and then wrote a plot that they'd fit in.

Other than the scene where the Dad is having sex with the organ and the Christmas party scene it was all pretty average in my opinion.

That'd make the G.I. Joe:Rise of Cobra board pretty sad and barren, who would be able to seriously discuss it?...

...come to think of it, the problem with that is?...

**SPOILER**

I *really* didn't like the 'twisted ankle' at the end, it made me groan. There HAS to be more imaginative ways to portray a struggle to escape than that.

C'mon boys, fight nice.

hey Lorddeano, i agree with what you said - but lets not be racist. To say all Americans are as stupid as this Morbid666 guy is to say that all Europeans are completely up their own self-important asses.

We can sit here and throw stones, and believe me, both sides are going to get hit! So please tame down the uneducated racism, please.

reply

Sorry B-MovieDork that aint wot I meant, I juz meant that I bet he was American and that was the reason he didnt like it. Nuffin against any of the other American folk who have open minds and can appreciate movies from different cultures/countries.

its all good lorddeano :) - and i love the last house on the left quote!

reply

I am an American and I love movies from different countries I find they are different and I do not base my judgement on who made the movie. But I do get what you are saying some people can be close minded.

let me say i'm sorry for the crap that comes out in the west. We have a really bad habbit of making movies for profit and the genre is hurting bad.

As for this movie...

I loved it. My partner and I watched it in our kitchen while making tacos and drinking vodka. Classy, I know.

I had no idea what to think of it and the guy who plays dad in the movie is the spitting image of this dude who used to hit on me in the gaybars.

anyway...

good movie 8/10

Me and my partner loved the movie too, was odd to see Perry Benson in such an evil role, but a really good film, in our opinion.

I do suggest that you don't watch the film before going to bed though, Me & my partner didn't get much sleep after watching this film, due to the nightmares - the film must have been good because nothing like that ever gives me sleepless nights.

I'll trade with anyone who has a jaccuzzi!!!!

reply

Ummm, this film is British. When you say 'the west' what exactly do you mean?

When I'm not here I'm listening to DEADPIT.COM , HORROR TALK RADIO !!!

Just finished watching and I was rather impressed.
They didn't try to go over the top with "tension tunes" or anything like that.
The actors/actresses (aside from 'Dad') were all quite good. Especially the main character who I thought did an outstanding job.

A lot better than most of the Hollywood crap, that's for certain. And at a fraction of the cost.

reply

I have to chime in and say that I actually liked it too!
I'm a big horror/thriller/anything of the type fan, B-movies included; but so often are the indies disappointing. I wasn't disappointed with this one!

....And the girl was really bad-ass... A few stupid attempts (like at the dinner table, really?) But I was glad to see her escape!! Not only that, but she killed the *beep* too!

It was a good movie, but the ending was pathetic, lol.
