I liked it (spoilers)

Although the movie seemed fairly to similar to Orphan, it was well done IMO. I thought the little girl who played Daisy did an incredible job. Her facial expressions were freaky, which I thought was an important aspect of her character...kinda like the evil within.

I assume Daisy's family knew she was evil since she kept in the barn or a shack? I understand her hatred towards her family, but what was with her killing everyone off when the new family arrived? Maybe because she wanted to be a part of it...hence envisioning the social worker driving off the road and dying?

Last couple things...before the doctor left, he said Daisy would sleep until at least tomorrow afternoon. I assume her gave her some sort of sedative or sleeping medication? Immunity to the meds...that allowed her to essentially do away with Martha? Soo...safe to assume she delivered the baby and Martha is dead? What is the husband going to do?

Anyway, I really enjoyed this movie. Suspenseful and entertaining. 8/10 :)

Well, I think you have to separate the notion of killing and murder, especially when we try to see the world through Daisy's eyes.
If she is a changeling then her moral viewpoint would be otherworldly in the first place but if she is autistic thenit might even make it more difficult to judge her actions.
She was protecting her newfound home by getting rid of the social worker but, I agree, there seemed to be no real catalyst for why she would suddenly kill her family and this plot thread was not explained well enough.
I also agree that it was a great film :-)

Daisy's original family was going to burn her as a changeling on Halloween night to force the fairies to return their real daughter. The officer and Thomas had a conversation about why and where the fire happened that relates to this. Also Thomas later learns about the connection to that night and Daisy being thought a fairy. Seems like Daisy knew and caused the death of her parents. Definitely a haunting movie.

Yes, you're right although this wasn't explained clearly in the film, it was an assumption we had to come to ourselves, although, like i say, it seems difficult to gauge how Daisy would have this sense of self preservation if she was not a changeling in the first place. I think by being definite for or against actually takes something from the sense of ambiguity.
That said, a small criticism to be sure.
If you like this then check out 'Dorothy Mills'.

"Dorothy Mills" looks interesting and is now on my list. Thanks for the suggest. :)

I liked the premise, but really thought they could have done so much more with the film. Dorothy Mills is excellent. You might also like "The Children".

I watched Daisy Chain a second time to clear up the ambiguities. The second time around it seemed clear that it wasn't Daisy that was doing any conciouse acts of killing, what was killing the people was paranoia and fear of an autistic child.

It is not at all clear to me that dropping a card on the floor really caused a crash. It is not clear whether Daisy actually took the little boy and purposely drowned him. In the pick up the baby scene she actually rather seemed like she just wanted to play with it. In the seen with the kids on the cliff, the "play with me" isnt any sort of method to get them to fall off a cliff (its completely innocent), it is the folk fear that causes the problem... and in the last scene with the birthing, its the woman's fear that causes her to fall. Daisy's actions towards the live baby seen benign, the father's on the other hand are just plain fear, and IMO innapropriate.

IMO, Daisy is an autistic child who acts strange and feared because of a folk belief (faerie changelings) that has actually caused the abuse and death of many children in Wales and Ireland. The people's own fear kills them, not Daisy, at least not on purpose.

Okay, while in the beginning there was certainly ambiguity about 'is she a changeling or is it just superstitious villagers,' by the end I don't see how anyone could conclude she wasn't. She spits on the neighbor and it gives him a huge boil. She's playing with the social worker's card like it is a car and then the woman's car crashes (she doesn't just drop it on the floor.) Martha is completely obsessed with her to the exclusion of everything else - including her coming child. All 3 kids who tease her develop meningitis but she doesn't. One or two of these things MAYBE I could write off but not all of them.
