It only opened to a handful of screens, which could mean a lot of things. In this case though I think it's fair to assume it probably isn't good.
shareIt probably isn't good (I haven't seen it yet), but all making $6K means is that they opened it in one theater for one or two weeks with little or no advertising. This kind of movie makes their money on DVD. Often distributors will put a movie in the theaters for a short run like this because it helps foreign sales.
So yeah, my guess is that it's not good, but the $6K doesn't really mean anything.
It's not good because it's really bad !!!!
share2 million budget?????
Did they have $1,999,997 left over?
My educated guess would be that 2 million price was made up by the producers in order for them to make a killing when selling it. See, if they SAY it's two million then someone offers to buy it for around that much, they've just made a bunch of money, because in reality this movie was probably made for around a half million at most. No big actors, only 3-4 locations (2 of which have been in a ton of indie horror movies, which means they're pretty cheap), no FX or even any real action of note, and sub-par digital video? No way 2 million went into that.

I could see a $2 million budget when you account for the salaries for a few of the actors. Gail O'Grady, Peter Onarati and Silas Weir Mitchell (and to a lesser degree Michael DeLuise) are decent names for a micro-budget movie. They may not be big names (although at one time Gail O'Grady was), but I suppose it's reasonable to think those 4 salaries could eat up a sizable portion of a 2 mil budget.
