Sci Fi Channel announced 2009 release

The Sci Fi Channel anounced a 2009 release for Captain Drake. It was (supposedly) listed for a 2008 release, then late '08/early '09 release.

But 2009 seems to be the year. Of course, this could change and there's no specific date yet:

I'm looking forward to seeing Temuera Morrison in this movie.

I am so looking forward to seeing Adrian Paul in this!!!

Can't think of anything that I've seen Adrian Paul in.

Little bit of news on Capt. Drake, which I found on a site called Adrian Paul Newswire.

The first is from Aug. 27, '08:

Scroll down past the large picture of A.P, and you can read a brief article about filming in Bulgaria. Then, while looking on the far right side of the page, scroll down near the bottom. The article is repeated, plus there's a very brief video showing some behind the scenes filming.

Looks cold and windy in Bulgaria!

Also, posted Sept. 9, '08, there's another brief article about Temuera Morrison, Adrian P, and a couple of the other actors doing more Drake work in L.A.

Too bad there's so little info about Capt. Drake. Maybe there'll be more news closer to the release date.

Anybody hear anything new about Captain Drake?

I just think it's amusing that Adrian Paul is starring in a movie with "Immortal" in the title. He just can't escape Highlander!

reply

Adrian Paul doesn't seem to mind, though, kjguhl. At least, as far as I can tell. I'm not a fan of his.

Thanks, Tisho! Nice pix -- is that your site?

Yes, this is my site for my Star Wars fan film "Shadow order". I meet Temuera in Sofia (Bulgaria) last year. My friend introduced me to him. It is a very nice man. We talked, shot and gave me a lot of autographs.

Immortal Voyage of Captain Drake is scheduled to air january 17, 2009 on the Sci Fi Channel.

But this movie was probably the biggest letdown any of you have ever had.

Letdown? This movie far surpassed any expectations that I had for it. The terrible cgi and corny acting is what makes it a scifi movie. You have to appreciate it for that.

reply

OOH, is that what it's supposed to be?

"OOH, is that what it's supposed to be? "

You didn't think such a high level of suckery came by accident or happenstance did you? It takes the combined effort of 100's of diligent craftsmen to create such a work of classic cine de stink.

Hate on it all you want, but if you were expecting it to be amazing, you really need to reconsider where you want to watch your movies, because the SciFi channel is not the place for amazing movies. It's a place for movies that are such B movies that they are purely for the enjoyment of all that they lack. I gave this movie 10 stars because I enjoyed it that much.

I forgot to record it. Hopefully Sci-Fi will show it again. I love Wes Ramsey
